Hope

Have I made the right decisions?
Have the paths I’ve walked been true?
How will I be judged when my time is though?
Can I ask for help along the way?
To guide through thick and thin
If I lose the race I start today
Does that mean I still can’t win?

Can I resist temptation?
For things that are not clear
Can I do what I know to be good?
Even in despair
Can I lend a hand to those in need?
When I myself have naught
I hope indeed that I can give cause giving’s all I’ve got.

When sweet life’s end approaches me
And I am nearly gone
If I could be remembered
For one thing from the beyond
I hope it’s for the smiles I gave
And the laughter in my sole
To touch a life’s a miracle
And one that makes me whole
